Profe - Privacy Policy
Effective: July 18, 2026
Profe is a handwriting question-and-answer app. Its core promise is simple: everything runs on your device.
What we collect
Nothing. Profe has no accounts, no analytics, no ads, no tracking, and no servers of ours that receive your data.
How your data is processed
- Handwriting and photos you ask about are analyzed by an AI model that runs entirely on your device. Images never leave your phone.
- Voice questions are transcribed by Apple's on-device speech recognition. Recordings never leave your phone.
- Answers are spoken using Apple's on-device text-to-speech.
- Your conversation history is stored only on your device and can be cleared anytime with "Clear conversation".
Network use
- First launch only: the app downloads its AI model files (about 1.6 GB) from Hugging Face's public content servers. No personal data is sent - it is a plain file download.
- Optional "Search" mode: if you turn Search on, the text of that question (never images, never audio) is sent to DuckDuckGo and Wikipedia to fetch public information. This is off by default, applies only while you keep it on, and we do not receive or store these queries.
Children
Profe is a general-audience app. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children - the app is designed so that it cannot.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
